Summer Holiday Minecraft Meets

Are you looking for a fun activity to keep your primary age pupils entertained during the Summer holidays?

The Curriculum Innovation team are running two exciting activities over two weeks this Summer at The Innovation Centre, in Bradford.

The sessions are aimed at 6 to 11 year olds and are £9.50 per child.

 

Week 1 – 26th & 27th July

The first activity is a journey into the Toy Story world where you will embark on a quest with Buzz and Woody. In the second you will fight waves of mobs to win emeralds in an epic dungeon quest.

First you will discover what its like to be a mouse in an exciting chase the cheese adventure. The choice of 4 worlds awaits you in the second quest – will you decide on creative, crafting, redstone or robot.

Byron Primary School gets good judgement from Ofsted

Byron Primary School is celebrating the recognition that pupils are getting a good education according to its latest Ofsted inspection, as is the case with other schools in the locality.

The Bradford Council school in the BD3 area of Bradford, (primarily Barkerend and Bradford Moor) was judged to be good in all areas, which is a leap from its previous judgement of Requires Improvement when it was last inspected in 2014.

In a glowing report, the inspectors, spoke of the “strong leadership” and ambitious Governors who know the school’s strengths and priorities for improvement and provide good levels of support and challenge.

“Pupils’ outcomes are improving strongly and have risen significantly since the last inspection.”

The complimentary report says: “Parents are positive about the school.  They say how well adults care for their children and that they are safe at all times.”

“The curriculum is well planned to meet pupils’ needs, especially those at an early stage of learning English.”

Headteacher, Richard O’Sullivan, said:  “We are delighted with Ofsted’s findings and it is clear they see the school as we do.

“This is another example of the good leadership and effectiveness of primary schools within the BD3 area, with several other schools in our locality also being judged to be Good.  This is testimony to the improvements being made in our area.”

Coun Imran Khan, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Education, Employment and Skills, said: “This positive outcome is excellent news for all those at Byron Primary and all those who have worked so hard to bring about this achievement”

“It is pleasing to know that thousands of our young people have access to a Good education in our district.”

Low Ash Primary School is praised by Ofsted as Good

Pupils and parents are rejoicing at news their school has been judged good by Ofsted following its recent inspection.

Inspectors visited Low Ash Primary School last month for their first examination in two years.

Their report, published last week declared the school to be good across all areas and said: “Leaders, managers and governors are very ambitious for the pupils.  They have very high expectations of pupils and staff.  As a result, pupils’ outcomes and the overall effectiveness of the school have improved and are now good”.

The report also says that:  Pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is a strength of the school.  The curriculum promotes the school’s values particularly well and is preparing children to become good citizens”.

They also noted that the quality of teaching across the school has been tackled successfully, by the headteacher and other leaders.

Headteacher, Terry Woollin said he was “delighted” with the result.

“This is a very positive report.  It’s testament to the incredible hard work that the whole school community – staff, governors, parents and, of course, the pupils have put in to making Low Ash Primary School the fantastic school that it clearly is.”

Michael Jameson, Bradford Council’s Strategic Director of Children’s Services, said:  “This is a great achievement for Low Ash Primary School and one of which they are rightly proud.  Congratulations go to all who have worked so hard to bring about this positive outcome and achievement.”
